3月15日 Some words A friend sent me some words in French to translate. I found it very nice these words. In Chinese: 来不及走近你身边 谁能达成心中所愿 当生命如沙砾般 在穿越时光的手里 散落,不见 3月8日 When winter returns, will spring be far away?We have been in summer during several days in mi-February but now we returned to winter days, very cold. We have got even a snowing day, oh my Goodness! Anyway, it was beautiful to see (inside the room) the dancing snow in sunshine (outside). I've got an appart but it won't be free before le March 17th. So I must stay another ten days in the youth hotel. Yesterday, I went to university hospital for listening to a lecture on bilingual brain mechanism. One interesting point was that you may have to do much more efforts to inhibit your second language when speaking your first language if your daily exposure time in the second language is enough long. I just thought of myself and I asked a question why I used to think in my brain or to look aside for visualizing the sentences that the interlocutor is saying. By that, I can sometimes successfully find the target sentence, the correct meaning. And now, I don't need anymore to do that because I can normally communicate in French but I began doing such thing with English because my spoken English comprehension is much worse than French now. I just asked if it's a common phenomena in second language learning (to reinforce the working memory retrieval via another modality: verbal - visual) or a specificity in Chinese-native-speakers who try more via a visual spatial pathway to understand the language? She told me that may be due to the second reason. And everybody shows somewhat a tendency to keep his personal strategy formed during the first language learning to the second language learning. Yes, it's like that, just like our thinking, our preference, our repeated but failed love story. But one day, we all can go through. Spring will never be so far away. 3月1日 nice city, but not easy to settle downI've started working in the labo since two weeks before. My colleagues are very kind. I'm still living in the youth hotel because it's too difficult to find an appartment in Lausanne. I slept bad in the hostel although it's kind to meet new people everyday. I hope I could move in my private space soon. However, I saw two wonderful movies and a folk music concert recently. They were great! The name of the movies: Reviens-moi (atonnement) and Into the wild. It's hard the fate of the roles in these two movies. I was deeply touched and during some moment my heart was broken.
Hope you all being well. Here it's raining, and there? |
